Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a common digestive disorder characterized by abdominal pain, cramping, and changes in normal bowel function, including bloating, gas, diarrhea, and constipation.

IBS tend to come and go in bouts, often during times of stress or after eating certain foods.

 Peppermint Oil  ;

Peppermint oil is widely used for irritable bowel syndrome. It is thought to reduce the abdominal pain and bloating of irritable bowel syndrome, possibly by blocking the movement of calcium into muscle cells in the intestines and easing excessive muscle contraction there. Peppermint is considered a carminative herb, which means that it is used to eliminate excess gas in the intestines.

Probiotics ;

Probiotics are live microbial organisms that are naturally present in the digestive tract and vagina. Sometimes referred to as "friendly" bacteria, probiotics are thought to promote health include suppressing the growth of potentially harmful bacteria, improving immune function, enhancing the protective barrier of the digestive tract, and helping to produce vitamin K.

Psyllium Husk :

Psyllium husk comes from the crushed seeds of the Plantago ovata plant. Used as a dietary fiber, psyllium makes stools softer, which helps relieve constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, hemorrhoids and other intestinal disorders. When psyllium husk comes in contact with water, it swells and forms a gelatinous mass that stimulates the transport of waste through the intestinal tract. It is considered a good intestinal cleanser in that it speeds waste matter through the digestive system, shortening the amount of time toxic substances stay in the body and thereby reducing the risk of colon cancer and other diseases.

Digestive enzymes :

Digestive enzymes are secreted into the digestive tract to break down food matter into its component nutrients. These can then be absorbed across the gut wall into the bloodstream. If this enzyme system does not work effectively, optimal health cannot be maintained because of the failure to absorb the nutrients needed. Also, undigested food passing into the large intestine will be fermented by the resident bacteria, causing flatulence, bloating and diarrhoea.
